Before you past I was able to visit with you and ask you some details about your life we giggled about some of the fun times and shed a tear over the not so good times. I asked you simple questions and in hopes to share them with my boys and their children some day.
Interview with Nan October 2019
When did you marry Granddad? 27 June 1959 @2pm in a Handmade white wedding dress your dad escorted you down the aisle.

What special memories do you have of your parents?
Grandad Miles had curly hair
We spoke how You did not meet your father until you were 4 because he was away at war. You even  had your Aunt believe your mum was having an affair because you would say my dad is in the house he is not coming home. You were speaking about a picture on the mantle.  
Where did your parents grow up?-Mill Mead?
 
Dad Reggie-Loads-He would say if you have only 2pennies to your name give 1 away and if someone else needed 1 give that one away too. He was always helping the everyone.  Many of nights they would have a stranger at the table for dinner. He got nan her first job up the lino.
Mom Elsie- Of her trying to kill Iris and she ran down to get her dad from work yelling and screaming she is going to kill her quick she is going to kill her.
Earliest childhood memory -2 planes dog fighting in the sky shooting one another (ww2)
Hiding in the Anderson bomb shelter and the windows all smashing out of the house because a bomb was dropped.
What kind of Hobbies did you have, or musical instruments did you play-Babington, Squash, she played golf and was really good at it but because of a complication she through her club at someone and never played again?
What chores did you have as a child- She laughed and said the lot? 1st she would have to polish the floor and then buff it.
First Job The Lino- My dad already worked there  It was my first night leaving school I was already for 2 weeks off as Iris and Val had got this and dad came home said I got you a job at the Lino you start Monday.

By 1869 Walton's factory in Staines, England was exporting to Europe and the United States. Nan would run big machines to add the pattern to the flooring. There would be 4 people working 1 machine at a time  
How did you pick your career ?That is how her Career was made.
You would later work as a seamstress, a hairdresser an Electrician at Hastings a bus driver a school dinner lady. You honestly were a jack of all trades and gave anything a go.
I asked her if she could have any other career what she would have had, and she said Health Care and to be a nurse.
Where did you Honeymoon-Devon in a bed and Breakfast?
What was your favorite family Vacation-Taking the kids to Haylen Island? 1 year when she went, she had packed up all the kid’s clothes and forgot to pack any clothes for herself, so she had to be her dress out every day to re-wear it.
What was the most rewarding thing about raising a child? The Love and Joy and them having their complete faith in you.
What was the most changeling thing about raising a child. Keeping up with them and being outnumbered, what one didn’t do they taught it to the other too do.
Did you ever do anything really crazy? Knocked a teacher out. School practical joke? put a pin on a teacher’s chair.
What was the most trouble you got into in school- Cane across the knuckles.
Who were your favorite teachers? She remembers two she liked the most Knitting and Needlework teachers-Mrs. Green and Mrs. Cooper.
I asked her about her first car-it was a Van that she worked on till her fingers bled to the bone, it even had the arms that came out to signal. What was your favorite car? Green Mini Cooper.
Do you remember your favorite toy?-Child doll from the war?
